IN THE BEGINNING
Girls en Motion Travel ("GEM Travel") was founded by Shaniqua Epps, a Dallas, Texas native, that had a vision of forming a community of mature women with a goal of exploring the world, while helping to create meaningful friendships that will last a lifetime along the way.
We are not just a travel group - we are family; a GEM Sisterhood community, made up of fearless explorers who believe in the transformative power of travel. Founded in February 2014, we have been on a mission to empower women to break free from their comfort zones and experience the world in all its beauty and diversity.
Today, our community thrives with over 3,000 members, fueled by word-of-mouth and referrals. It's a testament to the vibrant spirit and camaraderie shared among our members.

As I reflect on my life, I realize that it's never too late to start truly living. I've come to understand that the most meaningful and valuable possessions in life are the experiences that we collect along the way. The memories we make with the people we love, and the journeys we embark on are what shape us and make us who we are.
Despite my love for people and my passion for exploration, I faced a common struggle: finding travel companions who shared my enthusiasm. But rather than letting this challenge hinder my dreams, I was determined to forge a community of kindred spirits who shared my love for adventure. Thus, Girls En Motion was born.
Our first travel adventures began with two souls exploring Aruba, followed by a road-trip to Austin, TX to visit the state capital, wine-tasting on a tour of Napa Valley, white-water rafting in Colorado, and our very first retreat in Hot Springs, Arkansas. From there, our horizons expanded, venturing into exotic international destinations like the lush jungles of Thailand, the ancient pyramids of Egypt, and the pristine beaches of Antigua and Turks & Caicos. We trekked through the rugged landscapes of Costa Rica, savored the bustling streets of Vietnam, and immersed ourselves in the vibrant souks of Dubai, and so many more experiences that I never imagined that I would have in this lifetime.
I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such remarkable women, each radiating with energy and zest for life. Together, we have formed a dynamic community bound by our shared love for adventure and exploration, and I am so excited to now offer travel options to help them curate travel adventures for their families and friends.
The travel destination possibilities are endless, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you.
